MFA ASN and how to activate it through the BKN digital site

JAKARTA (Antara) – Security in the digital world is now a top priority, given the high risk of hacking to action Phishing. Therefore, government agencies including the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) need to strengthen the digital data protection system to avoid things that are not desirable.

As a concrete step, in April 2025, the State Personnel Agency (BKN) launched the latest system designed to improve the security of staffing data.

One of the main features in this system is the application Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), which functions to protect the integrity and confidentiality of ASN data. With the presence of this feature, all civil servants and PPPK are required to immediately activate it.

Regarding the launch, the Head of BKN Prof. Zudan Arif Fakrulloh asserted that in the digital age, data is an important asset that plays a major role in encouraging innovation and increasing efficiency.

“Data is not just a number or statistics, but also strategic assets that are the basis for decision making and policy preparation,” he explained.

Know what is MFA ASN?

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is a digital security method that requires users to pass more than one stage of verification when accessing the BKN system service. This mechanism is designed to strengthen the protection of digital data, especially staffing data.

With the MFA, the process of entering the system does not only rely on passwords. Users must also go through additional steps such as entering the OTP code (One-time password) sent to a registered device.

The addition of this dual verification system provides extra protection against important data belonging to BKN and other government agencies, so that the risk of leakage of data due to hacking or attack Phishing can be minimized.

Steps to activate MFA ASN

1. Open browser and visit the official BKN website via Link https://asndigital.bkn.go.id

2. After the main page is open, select the option “Login“, Then enter username And the myasn account password that you already have.

3. If you successfully enter, the system will display a notification to activate the MFA feature. Click the “Activate MFA” button to continue.

4. Wait a few moments until the QR code appears. Scan the code using applications like Google Authenticator or other QR scanner applications that support similar features.

5. After the scanning process is successful, the application will display the OTP code. Enter the code into the column provided on the activation page.

6. Finally, wait until the process is complete. The name of the device used will appear, then click “Submit“To complete the MFA activation process.

As important information, based on official provisions from the Central BKN, all PNS and PPPK are required to activate MFA before April 13, 2025.

After passing that date, all access to data and staffing services will only be available through the Digital ASN portal, and users who have not yet activated MFA will not be able to access it.
