Figure Ali Rahman: Regent of Way Kanan who has just been appointed died

JAKARTA (Antara) – The sad news came from the regent of Way Kanan who had just been inaugurated, Ali Rahman. His departure suddenly surprised many parties and left deep sadness. Official information about the death of Ali Rahman was announced directly by the Lampung Province Election Commission (KPU) through their social media.

“All the Lampung Provincial KPU extended family expressed his grieving for the death of Drs. H. Ali Rahman, MT bin HM Daud, Way Kanan Regent on Monday, March 10, 2025, “wrote the official Instagram account @kpu_lampung.

Ali Rahman breathed his last at the Abdul Moeloek Regional General Hospital (RSUDAM) Lampung on Monday (10/3) around 11.00 WIB.

According to information from the family, he died from the complications of the disease he suffered. However, so far, Ali Rahman has never complained about his health condition or showed signs of illness.

Way Kanan Regent, Ali Rahman, who was officially inaugurated on February 20, 2025, was a native son of Way Kanan. The man born in Blambangan Umpu on August 10, 1970 has a brilliant career track record in various strategic positions.

In terms of education, Ali Rahman took an elementary school at SDN Blambangan Umpu Way Kanan, then continued the junior high school level in the same area. After that, he attended SMAN 3 Bogor, West Java, before finally continuing his higher education at the D3 Academy of the Domestic Government of Tanjungkarang, Bandar Lampung.

After completing D3 studies, he continued his undergraduate education in the field of development and regional management in the Republic of Indonesia Administrative Sciences College (STIA), Jakarta.

Not stopping there, he also won a degree in two fields at once, namely the Masters in Engineering and Master of Law at Bandar Lampung University (UBL). Ali Rahman’s career in the bureaucratic world began on May 3, 1993 as the Head of the Bahuga District Development Section.

Furthermore, he once served as the Sub -District Head of Way Tuba, Acting (PJ) Secretary of the Way Tuba District, to the Acting Head of Bahuga Sub -District. His career continued to climb, until in 2005 he was trusted to be the Head of the General Section and Equipment of the Way Kanan Regency Regional Secretariat (Setdakab).

Three years later, he was appointed as Head of the Public Works Department (Kadis PU) Way Kanan. In 2010, he served as the Head of Public Works Office of South Lampung Regency before returning to Way Kanan in 2016 as Head of the Public Works Office. Shortly thereafter, he served as Head of the Way Kanan Way Human Resources and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM).

In the 2020 elections, Ali Rahman nominated himself as Deputy Regent of Way Kanan paired with Raden Adipati Surya. Both succeeded in winning the election and served as Regent and Deputy Regent of Way Kanan for the 2021-2024 period.

Then, in the 2024 regional election, Ali Rahman advanced as a candidate for the regent of Way Kanan, this time in pairs with Ayu Dawniyah, who is the younger brother of Raden Adipati. The couple won victory, so Ali Rahman was officially appointed as the regent of Way Kanan.

His sudden departure due to complications of disease carrying deep sorrow, especially for the government and the Way Kanan community. He had undergone intensive treatment at the ICU Abdul Moeloek Hospital (RSUDAM) Lampung before breathing last.

For funerals, according to a statement from his uncle, Aiptu Cucu Ahyani, Ali Rahman’s body was immediately taken to the right way to be buried in Simpang IV, Blambangan Umpu.
