Profile of Japto Soerjosoemarno, a Pancasila youth figure called by the KPK

JAKARTA (Antara) – The name of Japto Soerjosoemarno sticks out in line with the search of his home by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

This search was related to alleged corruption cases and reception of gratification involving former Kutai Kartanegara Regent, Rita Widyasari.

The KPK also confiscated a number of items of evidence from Japto’s house, including 11 four -wheeled motorized vehicles, rupiah and foreign exchange, as well as other electronic documents and evidence,

On Wednesday (26/2), Japto fulfilled the KPK’s call to be examined as a witness in this case. He arrived at the KPK Red and White Building accompanied by four legal advisers.

Profile of Japto Soerjosoemarno

Japto Soerjosoemarno or Kanjeng Prince Haryo Japto Soerjosoemarno was one of the youth leaders in Indonesia who was born on December 16, 1949.

Better known as Japto, he has long been a figure in the Pancasila Youth Social Organization.

Japto Soerjosoemarno is the son of the Major General (Ret.) Ir. Kanjeng Prince Haryo Soetarjo Soerjosoemarno and Dolly Zegerius. He is also the younger brother of a famous artist, Marini Soerjosoemarno.

He came from the descendants of Dutch blood and the Mangkunegaran Solo family, the combination of Europe and Javanese was in his lineage.

In his personal life, he married Retno Suciati and was blessed with three children.

One of his sons, Sahid Abishalom Benninu Nugroho Noyosatwiko Soerjosoemarno, was married to actress Yasmine Wildblood.

Japto’s career trail Soerjosoemarno

The name Japto is synonymous with Pemuda Pancasila. He served as Chairperson of the Pancasila Youth National Leadership Council (MPN) since the Big Conference (Mubes) III in Cibubur in 1981.

In the Pancasila IX Youth Conference which took place in Batu, Malang, in 2014, he was again trusted as Chairman of the Pancasila Youth MPN for the 2019 period.

He is the only main figure in the organization who has occupied the highest leadership position for more than three decades or 30 years.

In addition to his role in Pemuda Pancasila, Japto is also active in various other organizations, including the Retirement Son and Son of the ABRI (FKPPI) sons and daughters (FKPPI).

In its political world, on June 1, 2001 Japto was the founder of the Pancasila Patriot Party, which in 2009 was changed to the Patriot Party. He also occupied the position of Chairperson of the Patriot Party DPP.

In 2010, Japto was once elected as the President Director of TPI (Indonesian Education Television), which was appointed directly by Siti Hardiyati Roekmana or Mba Tutut, son of President Soeharto.

Then, in 2023 Japto was elected as the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Golf Association (PGI) for the 2023-2027 period. His inauguration took place in the 2023 National Conference (Munas) held at Intercontinental Jakarta Pondok Indah on Tuesday, February 21, 2023.

In the 2024 presidential election, Japto also joined the Amin National Team as Deputy Chairperson of the Advisory Council, who was tasked with supporting the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair, Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar.

In addition, Japto also joined the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in preservation of animals. However, he is also known as a figure who has a hobby of hunting. He even has a Trophy collection from “Big Five” in Africa and various animals collected at his home.

Besides hunting, Japto also likes to play golf with his colleagues.
