Profile of Fahmi Muhammad Hanif, one of the youngest regents in Indonesia

JAKARTA (Antara) – On February 20, 2025, Purbalingga Regency was officially led by the youngest Regent in its history, Fahmi Muhammad Hanif. The man born in Tangerang, 2 September 1996, was inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto for the term of office 2025-2030. At the age of 28 years, Fahmi brought a young spirit and a vision of renewal for Purbalingga.

As a regent who has the youngest age, Fahmi is back in the spotlight. This time, public attention was focused on the issue involving Novi Citra Indriyati, the vocalist of the Sukatani band known as the Twister Angel. The latest news says that Novi was dismissed from one of the elementary schools in Banjarnegara, giving rise to various reactions in the community.

Responding to this, the Regent of Purbalingga, Fahmi explicitly stated his readiness to receive Novi again as an educator in his area. This attitude shows his support for Novi and her commitment in providing opportunities for educators who face obstacles in their work.

Profile of Fahmi Muhammad Hanif

Fahmi Muhammad Hanif was born in Tangerang and is the second son of the couple Rofik Hananto, a member of the Indonesian Parliament from the PKS Faction, and Fidloh Threeyati. Since childhood, he has received strong education, starting with MI Istiqomah Sambas and MI Muhammadiyah Jatisaba for elementary school.

After that, he continued his education at SMPIT Asysyifa Boarding School Subang and Al Irsyad Al Islamiyyah Purwokerto. After completing his secondary education, Fahmi continued his studies at Universitas Brawijaya by majoring in Mechanical Engineering.

Not only that, he also had an education at the Technical University, Türkiye, with a focus on industrial engineering. His diverse educational experience shows Fahmi’s commitment in deepening knowledge in the fields of engineering and industry.

Before plunging into politics, Fahmi was known as a successful young entrepreneur. In 2020, he founded PT. Erdigma Indonesia, a company that markets products digitally. The company managed to empower more than 800 employees in a period of four years.

In addition, Fahmi is also the founder and CEO of several other companies, such as Erha Idea Cipta Karsa, Kulakin, and Herbech, and served as Director of the Erhanesia Group who overshadow dozens of companies.

In the Purbalingga Election 2024, Fahmi Muhammad Hanif was paired with Dimas Prasetyahani. The couple won with the acquisition of 342,913 votes or 61.47 percent. They managed to defeat incumbent Dyah Hayuning Pratiwi and his partner, Mahendra Farizal, who received 214,932 votes or 38.53 percent.

This victory is a new start for Purbalingga, especially with the presence of young leadership which is expected to be able to bring innovations and positive changes to the area. Great support from the community reflects the expectations of a fresher and more visionary leadership style in developing the region.

With a background as a successful businessman and young spirit, Fahmi Muhammad Hanif is believed to be able to bring Purbalingga to a new and prosperous new era. The experience and innovation he has is expected to be able to answer various challenges and create policies that have a real impact on the welfare of the community.
