List of Regents and Deputy Regent of West Java who were inaugurated February 20, 2025

JAKARTA (Antara) – The inauguration of regional heads in 2025 will be carried out simultaneously, including the elected regional head pair who does not face legal disputes and those who have received a decision dismissal from the Constitutional Court (MK).

In West Java, as many as 27 regional head pairs are scheduled to undergo inauguration on February 20, 2025. However, only 26 couples are confirmed to be ready to be inaugurated.

For Tasikmalaya Regency, the couple Ade Sugianto and IIP Miptahul Paoz are still involved in the legal process at the Constitutional Court. The agenda of the proof session for this case took place from 7 to 17 February 2025.

Thus, the regional head who is still in the trial stage of proof is likely not to be inaugurated on February 20, 2025.

The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, set this date as the beginning of the inauguration of the regional head from the 2024 simultaneous local elections in stages.

The Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian, in a work meeting with the House of Representatives Commission II, explained that initially the inauguration was planned to take place on 18, 19 and February 20.

However, after consulting with the President, it was decided that the inauguration was centered on February 20.

This inauguration will be a sign of the start of a new term of office for regional heads in West Java for the next five years.
