This is the list of the elected Mayor of West Java who was inaugurated February 20

JAKARTA (Antara) – The inauguration of the regional head in 2025 will take place simultaneously, including elected regional heads who do not face disputes and those who have received the decision dismissal from the Constitutional Court (MK).

In West Java, as many as 27 pairs of regional heads consisting of the mayor and elected regent pair, planned to undergo inauguration on February 20, 2025. However, of that number, only 26 couples were confirmed immediately inaugurated.

For Tasikmalaya Regency, the couple Ade Sugianto and IIP Miptahul Paoz still face the legal process at the Constitutional Court (MK), with the agenda of the proof session that took place on 7 to 17 February 2025.

Therefore, the regional head pair whose case is still in the stage of evidence at the Constitutional Court is likely to be unable to follow the inauguration on February 20, 2025.

The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, set this date as the beginning of a series of inauguration in stages of the regional head from the simultaneous local elections 2024.

This was conveyed by the Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian, in a work meeting with the House of Representatives Commission II. Tito said that previously the inauguration was planned to take place on 18, 19 and February 20.

However, after consulting with the President, it was decided that the inauguration would be centered on February 20. This inauguration is a sign of the start of the new term of office of regional leaders in West Java for the next five years.

The inauguration of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor is expected to bring new enthusiasm in development in each region. With the vision and mission that has been conveyed during the campaign period, new leaders are expected to be able to answer various challenges that exist, ranging from improving infrastructure, public services, to poverty alleviation in their respective regions.

As part of the simultaneous inauguration, the central government emphasizes the importance of synergy between regional heads and provincial and central government to ensure work programs can run effectively and in accordance with the needs of the community. This is expected to be a positive first step in realizing a better regional government for the next five years.
