Profile of Deddy Corbuzier who officially served as Staff of the Defense Minister

JAKARTA (Antara) – Deddy Corbuzier, known as a well -known magician and mentalist in Indonesia, is now entering a new phase in his career inaugurated as a Special Staff of the Minister of Defense (Staff of the Defense Minister). This appointment marks his involvement in the field of defense and public communication at the national level.

Besides Deddy, several other figures who were also appointed as staff were Kris Wijoyo Soepandji, Lenis Kogoya, Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Sudrajat, Indra Bagus Irawan, and Sylvia Efi Widyantari Sumarlin. This appointment was officially announced by Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin through uploads on his personal Instagram account @sjafrie.sjamsoeddin, on Tuesday (11/2).

Previously, Deddy had shown his commitment to national defense by becoming an ambassador of the reserve component (Komcad) in October 2021. Then, in December 2022, President Prabowo who was then the Defense Minister of Defense awarded the rank of Lieutenant Colonel Titular of the Army to Deddy as a form of appreciation for dedication.

Deddy Corbuzier, who has the full name Deodatus Andreas Deddy Cahyadi Sunjoyo, was born on December 28, 1976. He was first known as a magician before finally expanding his career to the presenter and other entertainment world.

As a mentalist, Deddy had achieved great success by winning the prestigious Merlin Award for the category of “World’s Best Mentalist” category twice in a row. This achievement confirmed his name as one of the most influential magicians in Indonesia.

Deddy Corbuzier has also been active as a presenter at several private television stations and had jumped into the world of acting. At present, he is more focused on his career as a YouTuber through the “Close the Door,” channel which has won more than 24 million subscribers and is one of the most popular podcasts in Indonesia.

More than that, Deddy Corbuzier’s career in defense began in 2021 when he was appointed as ambassador of the reserve component (Komcad). This role shows its commitment in supporting the national defense system through active participation in public education and communication.
