In 2025, Indonesian passports will be visa-free in 76 countries, see the list
Jakarta (ANTARA) – Good news for Indonesian people who want to or usually travel abroad. In 2025, the Republic of Indonesia passport can reportedly be used to access 76 countries visa-free.
According to the Henley & Partners Passport Index, the Indonesian passport is ranked the 66th strongest passport in the world with free visa access to 76 countries in the world.
A visa itself is an official document issued by the government of a country that gives its holder permission to enter, stay or travel to that country for a certain purpose within a certain period of time.
A visa usually takes the form of a stamp, sticker, or electronic document that is affixed or attached to the passport of someone visiting a country.

Visa function
A visa functions as an entry permit to a country that regulates security, immigration and compliance with local regulations. With a visa, the destination country’s government can:
- Control the number and type of visitors.
- Ensure that visitors comply with local laws.
- Manage security, economic and social risks.
In this way, it means that Indonesian passport holders will have visa exemptions when visiting or visiting a list of countries that provide visa-free access. Where are the countries? Check out the list below.

1. Pakistan
2. Seychelles
3. Sri Lanka
With the increasing number of countries offering visa waivers, Visa on Arrival (VoA), nor Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) for Indonesian passport holders, international travel has become easier and more affordable for the public.
This not only opens up opportunities to explore the beauty of the world, but also strengthens diplomatic, cultural and economic relations with various countries.
It is hoped that this visa-free policy can help Indonesian citizens (WNI) to be more active in contributing to strengthening Indonesia’s position on the international stage.
