The figure of Harun Masiku, a former PDIP cadre who has been wanted by the KPK since 2020
Jakarta (ANTARA) – Harun Masiku, a former cadre of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), has been wanted by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) since January 2020.
He was named a suspect in a bribery case related to the interim replacement of members of the DPR RI. Even though it has been more than four years, its whereabouts are still unknown.
The KPK continues to try to find Harun Masiku and renew his arrest warrant. In December 2024, the KPK updated the letter again, but he still had not been arrested. The case that ensnared him continues to be in the public spotlight because it is related to the issue of corruption in the DPR RI.

Recently, the case involving Harun Masiku also involved the name of Hasto Kristiyanto, Secretary General of PDIP. Hasto Kristiyanto is reportedly also involved in this case and is even named as a suspect.
Hasto’s determination as a suspect was announced based on an investigation warrant (sprindik) issued by the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) on December 23, 2024.

The determination of suspect status adds to the long list of figures involved in the case which has attracted the attention of many parties.

The figure of Harun Masiku
Harun Masiku is a man born in Jakarta on March 21, 1971, known as a former cadre of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) who has been wanted by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) since 2020. He was caught in an alleged bribery case related to the appointment of candidates for members of the DPR RI for the 2019-2024 period. .
Political career and legal cases
Before becoming a fugitive, Harun Masiku was active in the world of politics as a PDIP legislative candidate for the South Sumatra I electoral district in the 2019 Election. The case that ensnared Harun Masiku began with the KPK’s Arrest Operation (OTT) against former General Election Commission (KPU) Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan, to smooth the process of interim replacement (PAW) of DPR RI members.
This case was revealed in January 2020, where Harun Masiku was named a suspect. Since then, he has been a fugitive from the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK), which continues to try to track down his whereabouts regarding his alleged involvement in the case. Even though he has been officially named a suspect, Harun Masiku never complied with the summons for questioning and is suspected of having fled abroad.

Maruarar Sirait, Chairman of the PDIP DPP, stated that a reward of IDR 8 billion was prepared for those who could help arrest Harun.
Current status
Until December 2024, Harun Masiku is still a fugitive from the KPK. However, information regarding his whereabouts is very limited, and he has not yet been captured. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continues to try to track and arrest him to make him accountable for his actions before the law.
The Harun Masiku case is in the public spotlight because it involves high-level politicians and shows the challenges in eradicating corruption in Indonesia.
