The assets of Ekos Albar, Deputy Governor of West Sumatra in the 2024 regional elections


Jakarta (ANTARA) – Ekos Albar, who previously served as Deputy Mayor of Padang, is officially running as a candidate for Deputy Governor of West Sumatra in the 2024 regional elections. He will accompany Epyardi Asda as a candidate for governor. The pair supported by PAN registered with the West Sumatra KPU on Thursday (29/08).

Ekos Albar is a businessman and politician from the National Mandate Party (PAN). He began his political journey by joining PAN in 1999.

His political career at PAN was quite brilliant, to the point that he once served as Chair of the PAN DPP Management Department and Deputy Chair of the BM-PAN DPP in 2006. Ekos is also currently trusted to hold the important position as Treasurer of the PAN DPP for the 2020–2025 period.

In 2022, Ekos was officially proposed by his party to occupy the position of Deputy Mayor of Padang. He was then elected through the Padang DPRD plenary meeting on April 5 2023, to fill the remainder of the 2019-2024 term of office.

As an experienced politician and public official, he is known for his commitment to transparency and accountability, including in matters of wealth. Ekos has reported his assets through the State Administrator’s Wealth Report (LHKPN) which must be submitted to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

Based on the wealth report recorded in the LHKPN, the public can clearly see the assets they own. It is known that the last report was submitted as of January 5 2024 in the special category of starting positions at LHKPN. Ekos is recorded as having a total assets worth of IDR 9,023,473,087.

These assets include property including land and buildings, vehicles, other movable assets, cash savings, as well as records of the debt obligations they have.
The following are details of West Sumatra Deputy Governor candidate Ekos Albar’s assets, according to notes in his report on the LHKPN.

Ekos Albar’s assets

1. Land and buildings

In the State Administrator’s Wealth Report (LHKPN) which he reported, Ekos Albar was recorded as having assets in the form of land and buildings worth Rp. 11,750,000,000. These assets include:

• Land covering an area of ​​10,000 m2 in Gorontalo Regency/City, acquired independently for IDR 150,000,000.

• Land and buildings covering an area of ​​529 m2/350 m2 in East Jakarta Regency/City, acquired independently for IDR 10,000,000,000.

• Building covering an area of ​​49 m2 in East Jakarta Regency/City, acquired independently for IDR 1,600,000,000.

2. Transportation equipment and machines

Ekos is recorded as having total assets from transportation equipment and machinery, worth Rp. 705,000,000including:

• 2017 Mini Cooper Club Man Minibus, obtained independently for IDR 400,000,000.

• 1982 Hartop Classic car, acquired independently for IDR 50,000,000.

• 2013 BMW X1 Sedan, acquired independently for IDR 200,000,000.

• Vespa LX 0 motorbike in 2023, obtained independently for IDR 50,000,000.

• Scoopy 0 motorbike in 2016, obtained independently for IDR 5,000,000.

3. Other movable assets

According to records, the total wealth of other movable assets owned by Ekos Albar is equal to Rp. 20,000,000.

4. Securities: No records reported.

5. Cash and cash equivalents

In cash and cash equivalent assets, Ekos has a nominal value of IDR 1,066,290,269.

6. Other assets: No records reported.

7. Debt

Ekos Albar, recorded in his report at LHKPN that he was responsible for a debt amounting to IDR 4,517,817,182.

Based on the details in the LHKPN, Ekos Albar still has obligations related to a number of debts. Thus, the total net assets he owned after the report was received reached IDR 9,023,473,087 (nine billion twenty-three million four hundred seventy-three thousand eighty-seven rupiah).
