Jakarta (ANTARA) – Syaifullah Yusuf, who is familiarly called Gus Ipul, is an Indonesian politician who is trusted to continue his duties as Minister of Social Affairs. He was appointed by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto for the 2024-2029 period, as part of the Red and White Cabinet, in a ceremony which took place at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Monday (21/10).
Known as a Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) figure, Gus Ipul previously also served as Minister of Social Affairs in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet since 11 September 2024.
His career as a politician was quite brilliant after being elected as a member of the DPR RI in the 1999 elections from the PDI Perjuangan. His closeness to Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur) made him a symbol of the alliance between Gus Dur and Megawati Soekarnoputri.
However, when the relationship between the two became strained in 2001, Gus Ipul left the DPR and PDI Perjuangan, and joined PKB. Before becoming Minister of Social Affairs, Gus Ipul served as Deputy Governor of East Java for two terms (2009-2019) and Mayor of Pasuruan (2021-2024).

• Building with an area of 102 m2 in Surabaya, own proceeds valued at IDR 2,500,000,000.
• Land and buildings covering an area of 377 m2 or 250 m2 in Jombang, proceeds worth IDR 300,000,000.
• Land covering an area of 660 m2 in Jombang, personal income IDR 500,000,000.
• Land and buildings covering an area of 3850 m2 or 1000 m2 in Pasuruan, the proceeds alone are worth IDR 2,000,000,000.
• 82.32 m2 building in Surabaya, own proceeds valued at IDR 2,545,709,087.
2. Transportation equipment and machines
For transportation equipment and machinery owned by Gus Ipul, it reaches around IDR 950,000,000, including:
• 2019 Toyota Alphard G, self-made worth IDR 700,000,000.
• 2018 Honda Civic 1.5 TC E CVT, self-made worth IDR 250,000,000.
