Profile of Muliaman Hadad, Head of BP Danantara Investment

Economist and banking figure Muliaman Darmansyah Hadad was chosen by President Prabowo as Head of the Indonesian Member Power Investment Management Agency in the Red and White Cabinet.
Muliaman Darmansyah Hadad is a son of Bekasi who was born on April 3 1960. The 64 year old man started his university education in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in economics at the University of Indonesia, Department of Development, Faculty of Economics and Business.
After graduating from Bachelor’s degree, Muliaman continued his education with a master’s program at Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government, United States. In 1991, he succeeded in holding the title Master of Public Administration.
In 1996, Muliaman added another title to the end of his name. He received his college education at Monash University, Faculty of Business and Economics, and earned a degree Doctor of Philosophy. As an economist, Muliaman began pursuing a career at the Indonesian central bank, namely Bank Indonesia, becoming general staff at the Mataram branch of the BI office.
While working at BI, he was elected as the youngest Deputy Governor of BI in 2006-2012.
His career took off even further when he held various important positions. In 2003, he served as Head of the Financial System Stability Bureau, then Director of the Directorate of Banking Research and Regulation in 2005.
Apart from being active in banking, Muliaman is also a postgraduate lecturer at the University of Indonesia, Professor of Economics and Business since 2017 and also serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Board of Trustees for 2016-2021 at Diponegoro University.
At a different campus, Sebelas Maret University (UNS), Muliaman was elected as Chair of the Trustee Council for the 2024-2029 period.
Based on Presidential Decree Number: 67/P of 2012 dated 18 July 2012 concerning Appointments to Membership of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Muliaman’s name is included in the list of names appointed to serve on the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority for the 2012-2017 period. .
Muliaman was then elected as Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners and occupied a seat in the DPR on Commission XI.
In 2018, President Jokowi appointed Muliaman as Indonesian Ambassador to Switzerland at the same time Liechtenstein period 2018-2023. He introduced Javanese wayang to Swiss citizens as an image of Indonesian culture.
Since 2023, Muliaman has been listed as President Commissioner and Independent Commissioner of PT Bank Syariah Indonesia and Independent Commissioner of PT Astra Independen.
Muliaman has an organizational record by holding the positions of Secretary General of PP ISEI, Secretary of the Advisory Board of the Indonesian Risk Professionals Association (IRPA), Chair of the Education and Training Program Evaluation Committee of the Indonesian Banking Development Institute (LPPI).
Then, in 2007-2010, he was elected Chair of the Alumni Association (ILUNI) of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Indonesia.
According to the 2017 State Administrator’s Wealth Report, Muliaman’s wealth reached IDR 39.14 billion, including land and buildings worth IDR 23.75 billion and transportation equipment IDR 1.9 billion.
