Profile of Yandri Susanto, Deputy Chair of the MPR who is ready to fill the minister’s seat
Jakarta (ANTARA) – Deputy General Chair of the PAN DPP, Yandri Susanto, visited President-elect Prabowo Subianto’s house in Kertanegara, South Jakarta.
During the meeting, Yandri was asked by Prabowo as president-elect to join and contribute to his cabinet for the next five years. Yandri Susanto is a politician who is active in the National Mandate Party (PAN) and currently serves as Deputy Chair of the Indonesian MPR.
Born on November 7 1974, Yandri has had a long and successful political career. He first served as a member of the DPR-RI in 2012, and until now has represented the Lampung I and Banten II electoral districts in three different periods.
Yandri Susanto completed his elementary to secondary education in Bengkulu. After that, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Animal Husbandry from Bengkulu University in 1998.
It didn’t stop there, Yandri then continued his Masters education at KH University. Abdul Chalim and graduate in 2024.
Yandri’s political career began in 2004 when he became active in Barisan Muda (BM) PAN as Deputy Secretary General.
His political career continued, he was trusted to be Secretary General of BM PAN from 2006 to 2011. In the 2011-2016 period, Yandri served as General Chair of BM PAN which shows his commitment to strengthening the role of youth in the party. During this time he was also active in KNPI as Head of Tourism.
In the national political arena, Yandri was elected as a member of the DPR RI in 2012. At that time he represented the Lampung I electoral district before then representing the Banten II electoral district since 2014. Yandri’s experience in the DPR is very broad, especially in the religious, social and humanitarian fields when he served as Chairman of Commission VIII DPR RI from 2019 to 2022.
Yandri Susanto’s political career continued to develop when he was appointed Deputy Chair of the Indonesian People’s Consultative Assembly, replacing Zulkifli Hasan, who at that time was appointed Minister of Trade. Currently, Yandri is also said to be a candidate for minister in the next cabinet.
Apart from politics, Yandri also has experience in the private sector. He was a DPR-RI/MPR-RI Expert Staff in 2004 and served as Director at several companies such as PT Solusi Plus and PT Suplai Plus in the 2004-2012 period.
