Profile of Viva Yoga Mauladi, candidate for deputy minister in Prabowo’s cabinet
Jakarta (ANTARA) – Deputy Chairperson of PAN, Viva Yoga Mauladi was summoned to the house of President-elect Prabowo Subianto in Kartanegara IV, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (15/10)
During the meeting, Prabowo asked Viva Yoga Mauladi to join and contribute to his cabinet for the next five years. Yoga Mauladi is predicted to serve as Deputy Minister of Transmigration.
“I received an assignment from President Prabowo to be appointed to help him become deputy minister of transmigration,” he said, Tuesday (15/10).
So, what is the background of Viva Yoga Mauladi’s life until he was selected as one of the deputy ministerial candidates in the Prabowo-Gibran government cabinet? Following is his profile.
Viva Yoga Mauladi profile
Viva Yoga Mauladi, who was born on May 30 1968, is an Indonesian politician and activist from Lamongan, East Java. He completed his education at Udayana University, Bali, majoring in veterinary medicine through the Interest and Ability Program (PMDK).
He started his career by actively joining the Islamic Students Association (HMI) and served as general chairman of HMI in the 1992-1993 period.
After graduating in 1995, he migrated to Jakarta to become an activist and continue his Master’s degree at the Faculty of Economics, University of Indonesia. In the period 2000 until he received a Master’s degree in 2003.
While in Jakarta, Viva Yoga Mauladi began a professional political career by joining the National Mandate Party (PAN). Until he succeeded in joining the ranks of the DPP PAN management as chairman of the planning department monitoring and controlling election wins from 2000 – 2005.
In 2004 he experienced failure in running as a people’s representative in the Indonesian legislative general elections. At that time, he was a legislative candidate for the DPR RI for the East Java Electoral District.
After that, he was appointed as Deputy Secretary General (Wasekjen) at the DPP PAN Organization and Membership Development Agency (POK) for the period 2005 to 2010.
In the 2009 election, he ran again and was successfully elected as a member of the DPR RI from the East Java electoral district until 2014. As the 2014 election approached, Viva Yoga was given the trust to lead the PAN DPP Election Winning Body as chairman from 2010 to 2015. Then, he served as Deputy General Chair of PAN.
He was then re-elected in the 2014 elections and continued his duties as a member of the DPR until 2019. He was placed in Commission IV of the DPR RI.
Until now, Viva Yoga Mauladi has served as Deputy General Chair of PAN for the 2020-2025 period, and his name has been proposed as a candidate for deputy minister in the Prabowo-Gibran cabinet.
